What it looks like
About this app
Privacy Friendly Food Tracker is a plain food diary. You log what you eat, it adds up the calories, and you can look back over a week or a month to see how your eating actually goes rather than how you remember it.
Everything is kept in an encrypted database on the phone itself — there is no account to make and no nutrition company holding your meals. The one time it goes online is when you search for a product, which it looks up in Open Food Facts, the community-run food database.
It comes from the SECUSO research group at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, part of their Privacy Friendly Apps family. It is deliberately small: a diary and a calorie total, not a coach.
