About this app
Jazz² Resurrection is a rewrite of Jazz Jackrabbit 2, the 1998 side-scrolling platformer where a green rabbit runs, shoots and bounces his way through bright, busy levels. This version was written from scratch in C++ and runs as a native Android app with on-screen controls.
It reads the levels and artwork from the original game and understands several releases of it: the shareware demo, Holiday Hare '98, The Secret Files and Christmas Chronicles. Parts of the JJ2+ community patch and the MLLE level editor are supported too.
The app ships without the original game's data files. You have to copy the contents of an original Jazz Jackrabbit 2 folder into a Source directory on your phone before anything will start. It needs Android 5.0 or later and a GPU with OpenGL ES 3.0, and the very first launch spends a while building a cache during the intro.
